I don't think the person calling me uses a VPN, so if they get the IP of the person using the service is that enough to prove that they're doing it or do they need more proof? I've read just the IP is and then I've read it's not. I know people use VPNs, so if they did that then they won't be able to find out if the VPN place doesn't have logs. Then the guy said if the cell phone co has the ip info of the voip provider then they contact them to get the ip info of who is calling. Then if it's a voip call its really hard and they might need to get my cell phone company to give them my logs or something. The police told me they just take the phone number and then research their system to find out who owns it. But I am wondering what happens if I did open a complaint. A benefit is that you can talk to people from across the world instead of those who are in your country. You can send text messages to those who are on your contacts list or others who use the app. If someone is using textnow on a computer to call me then how do I trace the call to them? I am pretty sure I know who is calling me and I don't want to have to bother with the police. TextNow is an app that is easy to use with a virtual number that you come up with or that is automatically assigned.
